RIASSUNTO IN INGLESE (SUMMARY)

The announcement of the massacres carried out by Grendel crosses the sea, and reaches southern Sweden, where the Geat nation lives. To the Geats belongs Beowulf – the strongest man of his time, a warrior at the service of Hygelac, the King of Geat people. As soon as he gets the news, Beowulf orders his warship to be arranged, and declares his will to go and help King Hrothgar. Though the Geats devotedly love Beowul, still no one tries to prevent him from going; far from it, they encourage him, and in the meanwhile they consult the oracles to make sure he will succeed in his challenge. Thus, Beowulf gathers the most excellent fourteen Geat warriors, and, as soon as the ship is ready, he takes on board men and armaments and finally leaves towards Heorot. On the second day of sailing, Beowulf and his fourteen fellows see the high cliffs of Denmark.

RIASSUNTO DEL BRANO
The announcement of the massacres carried out by Grendel crosses the sea, and reaches southern Sweden, where the Geat nation lives.
To the Geats belongs Beowulf – the strongest man of his time, a warrior at the service of Hygelac, the King of Geat people.
As soon as he gets the news, Beowulf orders his warship to be arranged, and declares his will to go and help King Hrothgar.
Though the Geats devotedly love Beowul, still no one tries to prevent him from going; Sebbene i Geati amino molto Beowul, nessuno tenta di dissuaderlo dall’andare:
far from it, they encourage him, and in the meanwhile they consult the oracles to make sure he will succeed in his challenge. al contrario, essi lo incoraggiano, ed intanto interrogano gli oracoli per assicurarsi che egli abbia successo nella sua impresa.
